Sedum 'Thundercloud' is easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates light shade. Prefers well-drained gravelly soils of average to moderate fertility. Plants must have good soil drainage to perform well. Plants grown in overly rich soils or in too much shade will produce weak, floppy growth. Plants are drought and heat tolerant, particularly once established. Consider leaving spent flower heads in place for winter interest.
'Thundercloud' is a dome-shaped sedum that typically grows in a low mound to 12" tall and 12" wide. Pointed, gray-green leaves retain good color throughout the growing season. Tiny, star-shaped, white flowers cover the foliage mound with bloom in mid to late summer. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. Spent flower clusters typically retain shape and add some winter interest to garden areas. Zones 4-8.
