Sedum Garden

Every gardener that loves hummingbirds and butterflies should have at least 1 Red Buckeye (Aesculus pavia) and 1 Bottlebrush Buckeye (Aesculus parviflora). Nothing attracts and nourishes hummingbirds on their spring migrations northward like the red Buckeye and nothing attracts more butterflies and other pollinators during the summer than the honey scented and gorgeous blossoms of Bottlebrush Buckeyes.

The Buckeye seeds are ripe now and falling from their shells. They are unique in that the seeds germinate shortly after falling to the ground and spend the winter as a rooted buckeye waiting to send its shoot up next spring. We have both species available now for shipping and the sooner they are planted the better. You can plant them directly in the ground (about 1" deep) or plant them in containers and plant the seedlings next spring. We have them listed as 6 Buckeyes for $4.99 but if you would prefer 3 seeds of each just place an order for either and make a note of that preference.

There is no mention of the zones that will allow these shrubs to overwinter. Which zones are safe for them?
